Special Issue on: "E-Learning in Higher Education: EU Perspectives"

E-learning is one of the most important tools for nowadays competitors in the area of higher education (HE). Different educational institutions are looking for new ideas, new tools and new methodologies for doing their businesses faster and more effectively. They are going to use the solutions that fit to the customer needs better. E-learning seems to be the critical success factor for public and private institutions offering the educational services for information society members. This is especially visible in the European Union, where significant funds are being invested in e-learning activities.

The purpose of this special issue is to focus on the EU perspective of e-learning in higher education in three areas:

• e-learning methods and design,
• e-learning management,
• information systems and technologies for e-learning.

Special consideration will be given to manuscripts developing current solutions, and creating new ideas for undertaking e-learning in HE. We welcome authors presenting European Union visions and solutions, especially in comparison to American and Asian countries. Manuscripts presenting analyses and interpretations of empirical data are always welcome. Our goal is to promote innovative, holistic thinking about e-learning in higher education. We are going to stimulate international debate and encourage teams’ and individuals’ collection and analyses of relevant data.

Notes for Prospective Authors

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper was not originally copyrighted and if it has been completely re-written).
