Lean philosophy is a proven concept for business success. It is based on producing quality products and providing quality services that customers demand. Lean is considered as a process for continuous improvement through integration of customers, suppliers, employers and all stakeholders involved.
A large collection of proven tools are available in support of implementing this concept. This themed issue’s purpose is the publication of the latest research articles in the application of tools and methodologies in the planning, design, development and implementation of lean concepts in manufacturing, services and healthcare industries.

Notes for Prospective Authors
Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper was not originally copyrighted and if it has been completely re-written).
All papers are refereed through a peer review process. A guide for authors, sample copies and other relevant information for submitting papers are available on the Author Guidelines page.

Notification of review results: 30 April, 2012
Revised manuscript submission: 31 May, 2012
Final accepted paper submission: 1 July, 2012
