Special Issue on: “Theoretical and Experimental Developments in Nanoscale Heat and Mass Transfer in Nanostructures and Nanocomposites”

Guest Editors: Professor Andreas Öchsner and Professor Nasar Ali, University of Aveiro, Portugal

Heat and mass transport processes at the nanoscale are of great importance for many challenging technological applications. Both transport phenomena cannot be automatically described by classical continuum approaches known at the macroscale. Well-known characteristics from the macrolevel may change or even disappear and proper microscopic material and transport models need to be applied or developed.

This special issue addresses the modelling, characterisation and affects of heat and mass transfer at nanoscale in general and in nanostructures and composites in particular. It also reports the recent theoretical and experimental developments made with nanoscale heat and mass transfer in nanostructures and nanocomposites.

Subject Coverage
The subject coverage of this special issue includes, but is not limited to, topics that address:

• Fundamental, theoretical and experimental research and developments on nanoscale heat and mass transfer in nanostructures and nanocomposites
• Applied research and developments on new processes
• Papers on applications of fundamental and applied research in industrial applications of these materials
• Research that spans several fields is particularly welcome

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere
