Special Issue on: "Hazardous Materials Transportation: Safety Dynamics and Risk Analyses"

The objective of this special issue is to compile recent research and development efforts in the field of Hazardous Material Transportation, including accident and risk analyses, container and vehicle design and dynamics, cargo-vehicle interactions, performance measures, analytical and experimental methods, anti-slosh devices, and state of the art in the associated supporting technologies, as well as perspectives on future developments and applications. The special issue will follow an overarching theme integrating the fundamental research efforts on safety dynamics of hazardous material transportation systems, and advances in control and performance enhancement devices.

The specific topics of interest within the scope of this special issue include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Hazardous materials transportation regulations and safety guidelines
• Risk analysis and management
• Accident analyses
• Rail and road mode transportation of hazardous materials
• Container design and containment models
• Cargo - vehicle interactions including liquid cargo slosh
• Anti-slosh devices and cargo securement

• Rollover propensity of hazardous material transportation systems and prevention
• Advances in truck/container and control devices designs
• Dynamic safety performance measures and analyses
• Analytical and simulation techniques
• Experimental methods

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere
