Data mining is a powerful new technology with great potential to help researchers focus on the most important information in the data they have collected. This special issue will focus on the key research problems emerging at the junction of machine learning and data mining, thus serving as a broad forum for the rapid dissemination of the latest advancements in the area.
The major goal of the issue is to bring together researchers in machine learning and data mining to illustrate pressing needs, demonstrate challenging research issues and showcase the state of the art of data mining research, development and applications.
While this special issue will include extended version articles from the 1st International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Data Mining (ICCIDM 2014), we also welcome submissions from authors unable to participate in the conference.
Subject CoverageSuitable topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Neural networks, fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms in data mining
- Pattern recognition and association analysis
- Data and knowledge representation for data mining
- Fuzzy and evolutionary computation
- Data and knowledge representation for data mining
- Fuzzy neural networks, genetic algorithms, graph theory and other hybrid machine intelligence techniques
- Classification and clustering
- Machine learning and data mining
- Image/audio/video compression and retrieval
- Swarm and evolutionary computation
- Hybrid fuzzy systems (fuzzy-neuro-evolutionary-rough)
