Special Issue on: "Airports as Engines of Community Economic Development"

Guest Editor:
Jon C. Tomlinson, University of Northwestern Ohio, USA

In today’s global industrial environment it has been said that a sound economic development plan is the “lifeblood” of a community. In addition to existing infrastructure and required talent, a community’s amenities rank near the top of a would-be company’s wish list. Whether used for business travel, air cargo or even personal leisure, local airports should be viewed in their proper place as important engines of community economic development.
