Special Issue on: "Big Data Management in Clouds: Opportunities, Issues, Challenges and Solutions"

Guest Editors:
Prof. V. Vijayakumar and Prof. V. Neelanarayanan, VIT University, India
Prof. G. Anderson, University of Botswana, Botswana
Prof. Janet Light, University of New Brunswick, Canada

Cloud computing and big data has emerged as an important computing model, enabling software, infrastructure and information to be used as services over the network in an on-demand manner. Currently, both industry and academia have access to high-resolution datasets that allow for data-intensive decision making at a level never before imagined.

This special issue solicits high-quality original research papers on all aspects of cloud computing and big data with emphasis on cloud systems, cloud services and big data management in clouds. The issue will be a platform for creating awareness for students, faculties, the industrial community and society regarding the usage of big data.

The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the 3rd International Symposium on Big Data and Cloud Computing Challenges (ISBCC 2016), but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call.
