Inderscience Online – new journal platform Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question that is not answered by the FAQs below, please either contact us directly on librarysupport@inderscience.com or click here.
Does the Inderscience Journals service have a new name?
Yes, the new journals service is called Inderscience Online, and is available at www.inderscienceonline.com
Redirects
Will redirects be in place for the journal content?
Yes. Anyone attempting to access Inderscience content on Metapress will be automatically redirected to the equivalent place on the new platform. These redirects will be in place until October 2015.
Registration and Authentication
Will I need to register my library and its IP address(es) again?
No. Institutional IP address details and subscription information have been migrated across to the new platform so that readers will continue to gain access to your current subscriptions in the new service.
What happens to my username and password?
Your username and your subscriptions have been migrated over to the new site. The first time you log in, you will need to reset your password, using your administrator email address, and follow the instructions on screen.
How do I reach my new administrator’s page?
Having reset your password, you will be able log in (using either your old username and new password, or your e-mail address and new password). Once you have logged in, you will see a message at the top of the page which will read Welcome, Your Name. This is a link which will take you to your administrator page. Once on the library admin page, you will be able to check your access to journals, check (or change) your IP addresses, add or delete administrators, upload an institutional logo, and check your statistics.
Will I be able to access content through Shibboleth and Proxy servers?
Libraries will need to update their server links to Inderscience content straight after the switchover in order to ensure Shibboleth or other secure proxy servers continue to work. We will inform you when the switchover is due, so that you have time to prepare.
What is the new EZProxy stanza?

I am a journal editor for Inderscience - what do I need to know about the switchover of journal content?
You may access your content in the usual way on the www.inderscience.com website. The switchover will only affect subscribers and readers. However if your organisation is a subscriber to any Inderscience journals you may wish to check that your library is aware of the change of platform to ensure uninterrupted access for your colleagues.
Usage Statistics
What will happen to my usage statistics?
Inderscience Online will be collecting usage statistics for your organization from the date of migration (23rd April 2015). This means that usage statistics for April 2015 will only cover 7 days. From May 2015 the statistics will capture a full month of usage.
Will I be able to view my historical usage statistics after the migration?
We could not migrate your usage statistics from Metapress to our new platform: however, they will be available on Metapress until October 2015. You can download them directly from Metapress, and we recommend that you download your stats from there soon after the switchover and store them on your own server.
How can I get hold of my usage statistics from Metapress?
If you need to access usage reports for your institution, please see Metapress’s FAQ page at http://www.metapress.com/help/faq for instructions. Please note that you must have an administrative account in order to access the usage statistics.
If you need to reset your password please go to http://www.metapress.com/identities/help (Pro-Tip: make sure your browser view is set to 100% prior to using the image captcha test on this page).
Linking
How will I link my library journals database to the Inderscience content at Atypon?
Inderscience Online will continue to support OpenURL linking. If you have been using OpenURL to link to Inderscience through Metapress you will need to update your links database database with the new host name once the content has moved. Until then, please continue to use your current links. The new links will look like this:
Linking to a Journal:
http://www.inderscienceonline.com/openurl?genre=journal&issn=NNNN-NNNN
Linking to an article:
http://www.inderscienceonline.com/openurl?genre=article&issn=NNNN-NNNN&volume=NN&issue=N-N&spage=NN
Are link resolver vendors aware of the change of content location?
We provide our data to the major integrated library software vendors on a regular basis and will endeavour to keep their knowledge databases up-to-date.
