1. Focus and Scope
As a publisher INDERSCIENCE has over 25 years experience of journal publishing and pioneering groundbreaking new journals.

Our philosophy is to map new frontiers in emerging and developing technology areas in research, industry and governance, and to link with centres of excellence worldwide to provide authoritative coverage and references in focused and specialist fields.

Our goal is to foster and promote innovative thinking in the sciences, management, and policy fields. We see the need for synergy and collaboration between these fields rather than segmentation and isolation. Hence, our objectives are to build new links, networks and collaborations between these communities of thinkers in order to stimulate and enhance creative and application-oriented problem solving for society.

For example, our groundbreaking International Journal of Technology Management, which played a major role in coining the term 'Technology Management', is a past winner of the prestigious ANBAR Golden Page Award.

Our continued success lies in bringing together and establishing channels of communication between leading policy-makers and prominent experts in industry, commerce and related businesses as well as renowned academic and research institutions to facilitate solutions to address the key issues of the day.

INDERSCIENCE prides itself in ensuring the high quality and professional standards expected of its journals through pursuing a full double-blind refereeing process for ALL papers.

2. Formal conditions of acceptance
  • Papers will only be published in English.
  • Each typescript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been submitted for publication elsewhere in English, unless it was a conference paper. If it was a conference paper, then this should be noted together with a statement that the paper has been completely re-written and that either a) it was not originally copyrighted or b) that the author has cleared any necessary permissions with the copyright owner if it has been previously copyrighted. Previous publication in another language should also be disclosed.
  • All papers are refereed, and the Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to refuse any typescript, whether on invitation or otherwise, and to make suggestions and/or modifications before publication.
  • Typescripts which have been accepted become the property of the publisher. It is a condition of acceptance that copyright shall be vested in the publisher, unless the paper has been designated Open Access and the appropriated arrangements made. Click here for further information on Open Access. Click here for the Assignment of Copyright statement for all other papers.
  • The publisher shall furnish authors of accepted papers with proofs for the correction of printing errors. The proofs shall be returned within 14 calendar days of submittal. The publishers shall not be held responsible for errors which are the result of authors' oversights.
3. Peer Review Process

All journals published by inderscience place great emphasis on the quality of the papers they publish. Therefore, a full double-blind refereeing process is used in which:

  • papers are sent to 2-3 experts for their peer review.
  • The reviewers' recommendations determine whether a paper will be accepted / accepted subject to change / subject to resubmission with significant changes / rejected.
  • For papers which require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised paper is acceptable.
4. Author Open Access option
Authors can now request Inderscience to make their articles accepted for publication available online and openly accessible to all without any restriction except use for commercial purposes. This means that readers may access, read, download or print out the article free of charge, even if their library does not hold the journal on subscription.  In exchange for these facilities, authors will pay Inderscience a simple fee to cover the cost of publication. Inderscience continues to publish its journals on subscription.  This option caters for authors that want to ensure that their work is available to anyone free of charge.
