International Journal of Innovation and Sustainable Development (IJISD), Vol. 15, No. 1, 2021

Abstract: Key enabling technologies (KETs) is the concept of the European Commission describing the technologies that are expected to enhance the competitiveness of the European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to significantly contribute to solving the societal and environmental challenges. Evaluation of the KETs implementation at macro (country) level is frequently realised by using specifically developed quantitative and qualitative evaluation model for the purpose of the European Commission. Nevertheless, at micro (company) level, the performance measurement of companies implementing KETs has not been studied yet. The objective of the paper is to design the KETs evaluation model for measuring of the company performance. Furthermore, the model is applied on a preliminary survey of Czech manufacturing KETs-performing companies. As the result, the evaluation model of KETs implementation in companies is based on environmental, social and economic pillars of sustainable development but is extended by additional technological pillar, which is considered as a crucial for KETs.
