Abstract: The aim of internet of things (IoT) solutions is to help farmers close the gap in the demand for supply by ensuring high yields, profitability, and environmental protection. At the post-harvest stage, most exporting countries clean, sort, and calibrate the seed mixture, the effective implementation of which determines the seed quality. The study results of the parameters of an optical-electronic sorter sample for cleaning alfalfa seed are presented. To ensure a high degree of recognition of alfalfa seeds and weeds, as well as their effective separation, software products have been developed to control technological processes in a colour sorter. The research results made it possible to reveal the dependence of the technological parameters on the sorter's design parameters, at which a sufficiently high level of cleaning of the alfalfa seed mixture from the seeds of quarantine and hard-separable impurities is ensured.
