Abstract: Configurable business process modelling is proposed for traditional activity-centric business process models. However, few approaches on configurable process modelling have been developed for artefact-centric business process models. This paper fills the gap by proposing a configurable process modelling approach for artefact-centric business process models. In our approach, proclets are used to describe lifecycles of artefacts, and proclet system describes the artefact-centric process model. To derive the integrated representation of artefact-centric process model variants, we propose merger operation for two process model variants. We obtain a configurable proclet system by setting configurable points, where transitions and ports can be defined to be configurable elements, and the associated configuration alternatives are proposed correspondingly. New proclet systems are derived by configuration based on the behaviour of configurable proclet system. A running example is presented to illustrate the specification of configurable proclet system modelling and the derivation of new proclet systems.
