Abstract: Knowledge management (KM) gets importance in the organisational perspective. In this context, the present authors have developed a conceptual model by using, knowledge management practice (KMP) in the manufacturing industry for attaining performance. Based on various literature reviews, ten important intervening critical factors/enablers (organisational structure, leadership, training, employees' motivation, socialisation, organisational culture, learning attitude and behaviour, organisation's commitment, information technology, and knowledge management audit) are identified under KMP and a conceptual research model is proposed to examine the extent of its practice in the manufacturing industry in achieving performance. The aim of this paper is to discuss the identification of enablers through various research studies and propose enablers-based knowledge management practice in manufacturing industry for maintaining sustainability and performance. The proposed model has been validated by framing hypotheses and confirmed with the findings of various earlier studies. Further, the authors suggest that, the conceptual model can be tested and validated by empirical means.
