Abstract: The study aims to develop measures and enablers for healthcare risk mitigation capability. With growing importance for risk mitigation, our study develops healthcare risk mitigation capability as a first-order factor. Furthermore, it also develops its enablers and its influence on healthcare supply chain operational performance. A cross-sectional data collection approach was adopted targeting mainly experienced professionals in hospitals, chemistry and pharmaceuticals and surgical equipment manufacturers spread across two prime health destinations. Around 212 completed responses were received and were analysed using partial least squares. Our study indicated positive influences of organisation culture and top management support on healthcare risk mitigation capability. Also, it showed positive influences of organisation culture on resource commitment and from top management support. Furthermore, healthcare risk mitigation capability has positive support for healthcare supply chain operational performance. The study is the foremost to develop measures and a construct for capturing healthcare risk mitigation capability. Furthermore, it also develops the prominent enablers of healthcare risk mitigation capability and explores its effect on healthcare supply chain operational performance.
