Influence of socio-economic and demographic factors on the formation of migration flows in the countries of North Africa

Abstract: International migration is a significant factor in global processes in the world, labour mobility changes the established structure of the labour and demographic potential of countries. The relationship between the net migration rate and GDP per capita, unemployment rate, consumer price index, happiness index, natural growth rate, purchasing power parity, social protection spending, fertility rate for the period 2000-2020 was analysed in the countries of North Africa. Variable values are based on statistics from the following sources: Bloomberg, Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS - UNAIDS, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development - OECD, World Development Indicators.
