Abstract: In recent years, many advances have been made in the understanding of the conduction mechanisms of conductive polymers. Several reports have highlighted the role of the best characterisation. However, a number of questions remain unanswered. One of the problems is the easy specification of the average mass of polyaniline by UV analyse. The first synthesis of the emeraldine salt is a form doped with hydrochloric acid, and the emeraldine base is the dedoped form of PANI. Then, it was characterised by IR spectroscopy, UV/visible, and compared by GPC chromatography. After calculating the average mass of PANI, it was concluded that new easy UV-visible method is approved by GPC results.
