Abstract: This study investigates the determinants and correlations of community participation and support for the development of ecotourism villages in Padang Bindu, Indonesia. As a sustainable alternative for rural community economic development, ecotourism villages are gaining momentum worldwide. However, limited research has focused on community participation and support for ecotourism villages, despite their importance. The study employs partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to analyse data from 296 community members based on 82 statements. The results reveal that economic factors play a significant role in community participation and support for ecotourism village development, while individual factors only impact community participation. The study also shows that community participation and support are crucial for economic and social development. This research is one of the first studies to quantify community participation and support for ecotourism development and contributes to the literature on ecotourism.
