Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of workplace ostracism on employee engagement. It further examines the moderating role of mindfulness and mediating role of psychological distress. The data was collected from 150 corporate employees from India and analysed using descriptive statistics and PLS-SEM. Workplace ostracism has a significant effect on employee engagement. The presence of mindfulness has a considerable impact whereas mediating analysis revealed an insignificant mediating role in psychological distress. The study focuses on full time employees in private businesses. Part time employees were subjected to more ostracism. HR experts may need to develop guidelines to safeguard employees from ostracism to keep them engaged. Extensive research work has been done in the context of WOS and EE. The study is a novel attempt to test the effects of workplace ostracism on employee engagement among corporate employees.
