Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to develop methodological support for assessing the effectiveness of the digital economy in the era of intelligent machines from the point of view of economic growth, developing recommendations for improving it, as well as identifying internal and external consequences. The originality of the paper is ensured by a balanced accounting and assessment of the internal and external efficiency of the digital economy in the era of intelligent machines. The novelty of the paper is ensured by an in-depth study of economic growth, taking into account the share of high-tech industries and labour productivity. The testing of developed methodological recommendations by developed and developing countries in 2020 showed that external efficiency (0.39) is much higher than internal efficiency (0.06), and the efficiency in developed countries is higher (0.48 external and 0.08 internal) than the efficiency in developing countries (0.30 external and 0.05 internal).
