Abstract: Monitoring the performance improvement and devising the mechanisms for attaining improvement are required for industrial clusters through benchmarking. An Indian auto component cluster is selected for benchmarking and modelling the benchmark's performance. Benchmarking is performed considering a problem of multi-criteria decision-making and tools like analytical hierarchy process (AHP), AHP - multi-objective optimisation using ratio analysis (MOORA), and AHP - technique of order preference similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) are used. The goal of the problem statement was to identify the best-in-class performer, among the participating units. The nine participating members formed the alternatives. The selection was based on the five criteria of LP, CP, ITR, OEE, and COPQ. Rankings were given to the nine alternatives using the three methods and the same alternative - SBSIPL emerged as the benchmark through all the methods. The mathematical model suggested that non-benchmarks should focus on reducing the ITR ad CP cost that has almost 80% of the total weightage to improve their performance like the benchmark.
