Abstract: A comparison in terms of electrical properties performance of graphite and carbon nanotube interdigitated electrode (IDE) with titanium dioxide multiwall carbon nanotube (TiO2/MWCNT) as sensing materials is presented in this research work. Screen printing technique has been selected to deposit graphite and carbon nanotube conductive paste as IDE thick film on kapton substrate continued by firing at 250°C respectively. TiO2/MWCNT paste was printed as a sensing layer followed by firing at 350°C. The electrical properties measurement were performed using I-V characteristics measurement at 2-20 V, at room temperature. The results have shown that graphite and carbon nanotube IDE produced an Ohmic contact behaviour, convincing the suitability to use as electrodes for sensor development with TiO2/MWCNT as a sensing film. The resistance values of both graphite and carbon nanotube IDE showed a trend with increasing the input voltage, whereas the values were both increased after the layer of TiO2/MWCNT was deposited associated with slower electron mobility by introducing semiconductor layer via sensing layer of TiO2/MWCNT.
