Abstract: In this work, we propose an integrated charging and drive system based on a Double Active Bridge (DAB) converter to improve the power density of an electric vehicle's on-board charger and motor controller. The power circuit of an integrated charging and drive system is analysed, and a working principle of battery charging and motor drive modes is presented. The functional characteristics of single-phase shift control of the DAB converter are put forward, and a control strategy is formulated under battery charging and motor drive modes. The optimal design of key inductance and capacitance parameters is also given. An integrated charging and drive system simulation model is established based on theoretical analysis and parameter calculation. Power factor correction in the charging mode and load dynamic response in the driving mode are simulated to verify the feasibility of the system design.
