Analysing inhibitors of green practices implementation in Indian companies

Abstract: With rapid industrialisation, developing countries are facing environmental issues. These issues affect directly or indirectly human beings, which can be overcome by green practices implementation. Today, every company is trying to implement green practices in its organisation to take competitive advantage as well as due to societal and regulatory pressures. However, due to presence of inhibitors the implementation of green practices in any organisation is difficult. The objective of this work is to analyse the role of inhibitors in implementation of green practices in Indian auto ancillary manufacturing industries. An attempt is made to identify the inhibitors and to analyse their role in green practices implementation. The interpretive structural modelling (ISM) approach has been used to develop contextual relationship among the identified hindering factors whereas, matriced 'impacts croises-multiplication applique' and 'classment' (MICMAC) analysis has been used to determine the driving power and dependence power of the hindering factors.
