Abstract: This paper describes the results of an entropy analysis for grasping the characteristics of entropy balances in a multiple layer structure consisting of a human body and a residential thermal environment under heatstroke onset. The following results were found. Any subsystem has to discard not only entropy disposal from the inner subsystem, but also entropy generation within itself such as the human body, the room air or walls. It is necessary to ensure the sufficient margin of entropy generation within the system, both to decrease entropy input and to increase entropy disposal. Responses of entropy generation to ambient temperature change formed the linkage through multiple layer consisting of the human body and the residential thermal environment. There is a clear difference in hysteresis on the relationship between ambient temperature and entropy generation between 'AC ON' and 'AC OFF'.
