Abstract: Numerous studies have given insights into leveraging electric vehicle adoption as a catalyst for sustainable development over the past decade. However, this research delves into the impact of Policy Disclosure (PD) for electric vehicle adoption and its subsequent effects on Economic Development (ED) with the moderating influence of Financial Risk (FnR). First, this study attempts to uncover the impact of policy disclosure within two streams, i.e., environmental policy and social policy on ED from the perspective of China to furnish empirical evidence from a developing nation. Second, the study explores the connection between environmental policy and ED. Third, the study aims to investigate the relationship between social policy and ED. Finally, the study explores the moderating influence of FnR between PD and ED. For empirical analysis, we presently utilised six hundred and thirty-nine responses (n = 639) as obtained between March 2023 and May 2023. The results confirmed the relationships based on the structural approach (SEM) and SmartPLS tool. A positive connection between PD and economic development was confirmed with significant moderation of financial risk. A multidimensional analysis ensured the positive correlation between environmental policy and economic development. Finally, the finding assured the positive relationships between social policy and economic development, respectively.
