Abstract: Soil erosion of Bridgend City in Wales, UK was under study to detect the Stream Power Index and Terrain Ruggedness Index. The SPI values, which vary from 0 to 25643, show that the river is not resistant to erosion caused by the ebb and flow of the water. TRI values, which varied from 0.001 to 0.934, reflect that the river bed itself is particularly vulnerable to erosion faster than its tributaries. Small percentage of the research area, anywhere between 20% and 25%, has a hard ground surface that can endure the potentially severe erosion conditions.
