Abstract: Pig is considered the richest source of animal protein at a lower cost for people who consume pork. Improving sow productivity depends on the knowledge of sow reproduction as a crucial indicator for the best breeding system or the secret of success in any conditions. Estimating libido will always differ based on the definition and the assessment method used. Prolific boars with the best reaction time must be used to enhance litter size in sows. Reproductive traits, litter size, boar, and libido; in all pigs, there is evidence that boars' improved libido enhances fertility in sows. The study proposes a breed-specific libido-inclusive estimated breeding value programmes, because of the varying reproductive traits in pigs.
