Abstract: A collaborative product development requires a shared understanding of the product among many experts concerned by design, manufacturing, quality control, marketing, etc., working concurrently on different subparts of a more global project. The objective of this paper is to provide an approach for representation, integration and communication of different experts' viewpoints in design and manufacturing phases. Firstly, we describe the problems related to a collaborative environment and the current research work. Then we explain how using STEP standard we represent each viewpoint. As a case study, we describe the different viewpoints that can be defined on a ''display light'' product and we explain our approach for developing an integrated model. Lastly, we conclude and give the perspectives of our work.
