Abstract: In the present paper, the microstructure and mechanical property of alkaline earth-doped lanthanum gallate with Al2O3 addition are studied and the effect of the starting powder size of Al2O3 is also discussed. The phase constitution is conducted by X-ray Diffractometry (XRD). The microstructure is observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and the ion electrical conductivity is measured by an impedance analyser. The results denote that the addition of 2% submicron Al2O3 can improve the bending strength obviously and has no influence on the ion electrical conductivity.
