Abstract: In this paper, we present a simulation and hardware realisation on a compact electronic chip of a simplified growth hormone secretion mechanism. After realisation, the chip operates as a stand-alone device that mimics the function of the mechanism. The chip can be implemented to explore the function of the mechanism. To simulate the mechanism, a mathematical model has been developed. Four hormones have been considered, Growth Hormone (GH), Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH), Somatotropin Release-Inhibiting Factor (SRIF) and Insulin like Growth Factor (IGF-1). After realisation, the chip is tested. The chip behaves identically to the operation of the simulated mechanism.
