Abstract: In this study, an effort has been made to experimentally explore the possibility for Ultrasonic Impact Grinding (UIG) of pure titanium, using High-Speed Steel (HSS), Tungsten Carbide (WC) and Stainless Steel (SS) tools. Two output parameters (Material Removal Rate (MRR) and Tool Wear Rate (TWR)) at three different slurry temperatures (10%C, 27%C and 60%C) were selected to access the capability of UIG. The results suggested that the temperature has insignificant effect on the MRR and TWR in UIG of commercially pure titanium. Furthermore, the effect of power rating on MRR and TWR was greatly influenced by material properties.
