Abstract: The influence of welding parameters in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) process on the bead geometry and Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) were determined using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The significance of all the variables on the properties of the weld zone have been assessed by ANN and found to be in accordance to the existing knowledge. The roles of the variables on the weld quality, as revealed from the simulation results have been used to develop fuzzy if-then rules. The simple linguistic rule development from raw data is found to be effective in gathering basic understanding of the process.
