International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management (IJLSM), Vol. 7, No. 3, 2010

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to examine the Supply Chain Management (SCM) in the Spanish fashion industry in order to know if companies are adopting agile approach as leading companies do (in detail, Zara). A case study approach was adopted for comparing main key factors that contribute to Zara's success with practices adopted by other Spanish fashion companies (5). It highlighted that although other Spanish fashion companies are evolving towards the Zara model, a long way is still remaining, specially, in the non-application of the season concept that impedes a fast capacity to react to market changes.
