The roadmapping approach is utilised for an analysis of the current state-of-art in terms of international collaboration in technology. A case study based on industry-level analysis is also utilised. Among the four types of technology collaboration – licensing, co-researching, R&D centre establishment, green field investment – the industry in this study is heavily dependent on co-research conducted between countries. In order to vitalise the industry, this study focuses on implementation strategies via SWOT analysis. The results of this study indicate that policy-makers and business decision-makers can achieve strategic gains using technology strategy for international technology collaboration.
