Abstract: It is necessary to eliminate the possibility that hot sections of modern gas turbines come apart during manufacture and TBO maintenance. These parts are nearly always made of nickel alloys. Advanced technological procedures such as high-temperature vacuum brazing and EB-welding should be used. This article gives an evaluation of physico-metallurgical features and mechanical properties and explores the role technological parameters play in their optimisation. It provides knowledge and data on joints which are useful not only for metallurgists but also for designers and technologists. A number of examples are used to show the close relations between technological procedures and the use of parts needed for the Czechoslovak Walter M601 and M602 turbojet engines.
