Abstract: The effects of silver doping in the Y-Ba-Cu-Oxide (YBCO) high Tc superconducting material were studied. The YBCO material were doped with 10%, and 15% silver by the addition of silver oxide or silver nitrate. Results show that the doping of silver will improve the R-T characteristics of YBCO. The major effect is that silver make the connection of grain boundaries better. Results also demonstrated many evidences indicating the importance of the way of calcination. Better calcination or sintering will make the zero resistance transition temperature (Tco) values approach 90°K in our measuring system.
