Abstract: Cement, concrete and plaster are products used in great volume by civil and constructional engineers. Nevertheless, these familiar materials are the subject of much research. The use of cement, concrete and plaster in civil engineering is likely to increase as producing and using them will require less energy than other materials, and their properties will be enhanced.
