Abstract: E-learning is increasingly playing an important role in human resource development, attracting increasing attention from both researchers and practitioners. Various topics on e-learning for workforce development have emerged, showing the dynamics of knowledge in this field. This study aims to determine the core concepts and research themes in the domain of e-learning enabled workforce development. Academic and industrial journals, magazines, and conference proceedings in this field were selected as the dataset. A set of methods including co-occurrence analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis, and social network analysis were employed for data analysis. The results revealed a number of key topics in the field and found that current knowledge in e-learning enabled workforce development is mainly constructed around three themes: technology-enabled employee training and performance practice; success factors and effectiveness of e-learning and virtual learning community; and e-learning usability, delivery and marketing strategy.
