Abstract: This paper presents a seventh order nonlinear mathematical model of the long term Arterial Blood Pressure (ABP) regulation incorporating many of the nervous control mechanisms and hormonal activities. The model has been simulated to test some of the hypotheses relating to nervous activities, hormonal modulations and hyper tension. The simulation results indicate the adequacy of the model as a dynamic representation of cardio-renal system and would be useful for better cardiovascular diagnosis and prediction. A sensitivity analysis has shown that model is robust. Additional efforts with the linearisation of the model have supported the stability of the system under normal conditions.
