Abstract: Many countries of the world have developed various policies and programmes to promote entrepreneurship; developing countries have found developing entrepreneurship by indigenising the economy appealing, as it would also address the economic imbalance. Indigenisation would favour the indigenous people who are considered to have been economically and politically disadvantaged. However, indigenisation has had limited success. While the indigenous citizens have enjoyed favours from the government other citizens have been alienated, resulting in resentment poor cooperation. Indigenisation has been misused by those who should benefit from it.
