Abstract: The complexity of turbulent combustion places severe demands on computer resources, as a wide range of turbulence-chemistry interactions needs to be included in modelling of advanced combustors. A brief review on current status and future trends of models for turbulence-chemistry interactions is given with the view toward their applications to large eddy simulations (LES). Challenges in specific modelling areas are outlined and opportunities for advancements in computational techniques are suggested.
