The entrepreneur and the bully: case study
by Ruth McKay
International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business (IJESB), Vol. 14, No. 2, 2011

Abstract: Mady, an entrepreneur, builds a retirement home in 2002. During the start up, a funding shortage necessitates her bringing in a management company. As part of the funding agreement, the management company assumed the role of hiring. Poor hiring decisions by the management company unionise the organisation and burden the organisation with problem employees. Case A documents the events confronting the entrepreneur. Case B documents the actions taken by the entrepreneur to solve her problems with a bully.
