Abstract: Transfer of knowledge has been studied with a very technical perspective. Various dimensions that make students like their teachers or that render a teacher effective have also been considerably studied, but the impact of such dimensions on the knowledge receptivity of students is highly debatable. This study endeavours to address this contentious issue. An attempt has been made to identify the categories of instructor characteristics, if any, that influence the receptivity of knowledge. The study also reveals that there are many characteristics of instructors that may lead to an instructor's overall effectiveness but they may not necessarily impact the knowledge receptivity of students.
