Abstract: This paper discusses the design of simulation platform for cargo airdrop system based on 3D animation technology. First, the model of the multi-level multi-chute airdrop system is introduced. Then, models of several key components are introduced based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) and ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Moreover, all subsystem modules are seamlessly integrated. Finally, 3D simulation system is designed based on the framework of Microsoft Visual C++ and DirectX SDK technology. By comparison between simulation data and experiment results, it shows that the proposed simulation platform is effective and stable. In addition, the whole system is friendly and is easy to operate.
