Abstract: Beam forming is one of the most important processes occurring in smart antennas and its function is to change the beam pattern of the antenna for a given angle. If the antenna does not change its direction according to the receiving signal, the signal losses will be more. So, in order to increase the efficiency and to reduce the signal losses, a new method was proposed for beam forming in smart antenna with spatial diversity using fuzzy logic and neural network. In order to provide training for neural network and fuzzy logic, a huge personalised training data set is generated using Genetic Algorithm (GA). Given a desired angle as input, the proposed method gives the corresponding antenna parameters and phase angle as output. By identify the suitable antenna parameters, the efficiency of the smart antenna increases and the implementation results show the performance of the proposed method.
