Is family the key? Exploring the motivation and success factors of female Emirati entrepreneurs

Abstract: This exploratory research attempts to identify the motivation factors and to understand the extent to which different aspects of family play a role in the success of an entrepreneurial business operated by an Emirati businesswoman. A survey was used to collect data from 224 Emirati female entrepreneurs. We carried out factor analyses using principle component method subject to varimax rotation and regression analysis to answer our research questions. It was found that family is an important, but not the ain motivating factor. Family support and contribution of family members to the business are important for business success.
