Abstract: Composite nanostructure of ZnO with ZnP co-grown on FTO less substrate to improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency of dye sensitised solar cell (DSSC). The morphology of ZnO nanorods and composite nanostructures are characterised and demonstrated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) images. The heterogeneous interface between transparent conducting oxide (TCO) and nanorods is completely eliminated. In addition to this the composite nanostructure significantly improves the performance of DSSC in terms of conversion efficiency.
