Abstract: This paper presents the viability to use a mathematical model to ascertain the pollutant carriage in a watercourse, under the leaching process effect or not. An impoundment system was divided in 15 compartments homeomorphic to rectangles, and the simulations considered results in analysis of biochemical oxygen demand, and natural decay rate variations, among other variables. A system of difference equations was used for modelling. It is reliable to use this model to predict pollutant concentration in water, and to simulate the runoff effects with different decay rates.
