Abstract: Delay/Distribution Tolerant Networks (DTNs) are the attractive research areas in the wireless communications field. In DTN, there may be no path existence between the source and the destination for same time. DTNs are vulnerable to wormhole and black hole attacks, where an attacker affects the packet transmission in different locations. Subsequently, these packets are re-sent locally to the network. Many existing routing protocols may fail to identify the valid routes in the absence of proper security mechanisms. To overcome this problem, the secure routing mechanism is proposed to prevent the data from attacks in a DTN environment. A novel key generation mechanism is introduced using relay details. As a consequence, the generated key provides security for the DTN. The experimental results exhibit higher delivery ratio with respect to the number of nodes and number of hop counts and lower latency in terms of number of nodes than the existing techniques.
