Abstract: It is the policy of Inderscience Publishers to retract from publication any paper if, subsequent to publication, it becomes a matter of dispute regarding intellectual property, publishing ethics or legal issues. Each case is judged according to individual circumstances. In this case, the authors' (Jianghao Jin, Xie Zhou, Chuangui Ma and Xu'an Wang) work, 'A new socio-rational secret sharing scheme', (submitted for review 15 February 2016) has substantial similarities to two earlier papers by Mehrdad Nojoumian and Douglas R. Stinson, 'Socio-Rational Secret Sharing as a New Direction in Rational Cryptography' (submitted for review 8 July, 2012) and 'Unconditionally secure social secret sharing scheme' by Mehrdad Nojoumian, Douglas Stinson and M. Grainger (submitted for review 10 June 2009).This deems it liable to conflict and ethical dispute. This paper has therefore been retracted.
